Apollo 11: Volume 1
The first volume of the Apollo 11 Flip Book Edition is based on original footage from the NASA archives, shot during the different stages of the mission. It shows the mythical Saturn V launch or the astronauts inside the Command Module, among others. Some sequences are edited in multicam shots to show the action synchronized from different angles. Through our Flipboku Augmented Reality App, you can see a 3D model of the Saturn V rocket as well as an animated recreation of the stage separation.
Apollo 11: Volume 2
Volume 2 features six sequences depicting the moon landing from a more technical and informative point of view, whilst maintaining an artistic approach through the original concept art of NASA artists from 1966, turned into animations. They are some of the most important maneuvers performed by the astronauts, such as the stage separations and docking procedures and the lunar orbit insertion of the CSM-LM module. The docking procedure is also featured as an animated 3D model in the AR App.
The Kapton Mylar foil is from the Apollo 11 Command Module “Columbia”. This particular fragment was recovered from the spacecraft after splashdown on the Pacific Ocean on July 24th 1969.
