Hieronymus Bosch Flipbook

Hieronymus Bosch, born Jheronimus van Aken (c. 1450–1516), was an Early Netherlandish painter from ’s-Hertogenbosch, in the Duchy of Brabant. Known for his extraordinarily detailed and imaginative compositions, Bosch created fantastical scenes filled with religious symbolism, human folly, temptation and visions of hell. His work was highly sought after during his lifetime and became particularly influential in Spain.

The Garden of Earthly Delights is one of Bosch’s most famous and enigmatic works. Painted around 1490–1500 in oil on oak panel, the triptych presents an extraordinary world of paradise, earthly pleasures and punishment. Today it is housed in the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
